VOL. 54 ISSUE 22 JUNE 6, 2017 P59 450MX There's a saying in racing that goes: "If you knew the results ahead of time, there'd be no point in running the race in the first place." That's especially true of the Thunder Valley MX National in Colorado. Most people, if polled, would've probably picked Monster Energy Kawasaki's Eli Tomac to win this race; he's a Colorado native, so he's more used to the altitude, and he had literally won the majority of races run in 2017 prior to round three of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships Outdoors, he has come along even quicker. After a lot of valuable testing time during the first few rounds of the series, Baggett didn't just win in Colo- rado, he was clearly the fastest man on the track during both motos. And in the 250MX class, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Joey Savatgy proved that rumors of his death had been greatly exaggerated, going out and going 4-1 for his first overall win of the series so far. There's a lot of racing left, but no- body's rolling over for anyone just yet. Justin Bogle scored his first 450MX moto win but was unable to parlay that into an overall podium finish.
