MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL/AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 3 / JUNE 3, 2017 LAKEWOOD, COLORADO / THUNDER VALLEY RACEWAY P64 we tried our best. We want to be consistent, but definitely Blake Baggett was riding really well that second moto, so I got third." For Anderson, it's his second podium in a row, and this time it came at elevation, which nor- mally causes a lot of problems for him. Last year, he ended up in the hospital. In the championship, Musquin managed to extend his lead by two points over Tomac and now leads 127-110, and Baggett is lurking only two points behind Tomac with nine rounds (18 mo- tos) still left to run. 1-9 was good for fourth, while Tomac's 7-2 earned him fifth. "The first moto, unfortunately a couple guys went down in front of me, and I couldn't avoid one of their bike and went down," Musquin said. "That's not a good thing on the first lap. But that's racing. We gave our best, and I came back to fourth place, which was really good, and we were able to get some points and pass Eli Tomac in the moto, so that was great! I was really happy about it. And in the sec- ond moto, I really wanted to get a good start, but definitely here, I'm struggling with the starts. But I've got to give it up to the whole Rocky Mountain ATV-MC KTM team, my mom, my dad, my wife; everybody's behind me, includ- ing Michael Byrne, and we're dedicated to win, so here's the start of it." Behind Baggett in the moto came Tomac, Musquin and then Webb, who fought it out with Grant and Anderson on the final lap to take a strong fourth place. Grant was fifth, Anderson sixth, Wilson seventh, Tickle eighth, Bogle ninth and Seely 10th. Musquin ended up second overall on the day with a 4-3 over the 2-6 of Anderson. Bogle's My Own Race: 36 ADAM CIANCIARULO 14TH 250MX (5-DNF) A mechanical failure in moto two with just a few laps left in the race dropped Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Adam Cianciarulo out of a battle for a top-five spot, leaving him with a DNF. "I felt really good in the first moto aside from a small tip-over at the start," Cianciarulo said. "The second moto felt good up until the halfway point, but you have to take the good with the bad and I know the team is putting in 110% and I've got a lot of confidence in them. Aside from that I think there are a lot of posi- tives to take out of today." 19 JUSTIN BOGLE 4TH 450MX (1-9) RCH Suzuki's Justin Bogle has switched his training regimen up and has done a lot of work on learning how to sort out settings in testing, and it paid off in moto one at Thunder Valley. "Winning's fun!" Bogle said. "We've just got to keep the ball rolling. We've had a little bit of excitement under the RCH tent this morning [he said, in reference to a small fire that broke out while putting fuel in teammate Broc Tickle's bike], but it's nothing we can't handle, and we got it sorted quickly and got both the bikes back and ready to get off the start, and I got an incredible start." He started inside the top five in moto two, as well, but had a fall and never seemed to catch the same flow. His 1-9 was good for fourth on the day. 3 ELI TOMAC 5TH 450MX (7-2) Monster Energy Kawasaki's Eli Tomac had a rough day in Colorado, but ended up minimizing the damage, only losing two points to championship leader Marvin Musquin. "For sure the ruts," Tomac said about what was so tough about the track. "This was one of the deepest tracks I've ridden. It started out really wet, and these four-strokes really eat up the track, so at least we were able to make a little bit of a comeback in that second moto. The first one was definitely a disappointment with the tip-over and all that, but we kept on fighting."
