outside lines, reminiscent of
his 250cc National Champion-
ship days, and used them to go
around Barcia and Tomac, then
set out after Musquin, whom he
zapped only a couple laps later.
Baggett had a few seconds to
make up on Seely in third, but
he did it in only a lap, and then
went right around the Honda
rider. Musquin followed suit a lap
later. Next up for Baggett was
Anderson, but he was over eight
seconds in front of Baggett at
this point. Still, Baggett chased
him down, only to come up 2.5
seconds short at the finish.
"The skills have been there,
but it's just a new bike, new
team for me this year," Baggett
said. "We got it figured out in
supercross, and it's just taken
us until now to get it figured out
for outdoors. I pretty much gave
them that one. I felt like I had the
speed to win, but when you're
lying on the ground, it doesn't

ready for the second moto and

the moto. Behind Tomac came
Tickle, Wilson and Davalos, in
that order.
Tickle snared the holeshot
to start moto two with Baggett
hot on his heels, then Barcia,
Tomac, Bogle, Anderson, Webb,
having to restart his bike, losing
a few spots. When he got up, in
sixth, only six laps into the race,
somehow Musquin was right on
his tail, with Baggett gaining on
both of them in eighth.
The train of riders went
around Tickle, and then Musquin
passed Tomac before finding a
quick way past Barcia for fourth,
but Baggett had some brilliant
year. Just getting in the flow,
riding smooth, and I felt awe-
some. This is my first podium on
a 450 in a moto, so to make it
a win, that's incredible. It feels
awesome. Hopefully, we can get
back up here second moto."
Behind them, though, there
was a lot of action. Tomac
eventually worked his way up to
third before falling in a turn and
