glory in the fourth round
of the 2017 MotoAmerica
Superbike Championship, with
Beaubier, the defending Motul
Superbike champ, scoring a
hard-fought victory over Elias in
race one, in what was the clos-
est margin of victory of the year,
thus far. Just 0.005 separated
Beaubier's Monster Energy Ya-
maha R1 from Elias' Yoshimura
Suzuki GSX-R1000RR across
the finish line, with Roger
Hayden just 0.153 seconds
behind of Beaubier in third.
Both Elias and Hayden turned
the tables on Beaubier in race
two on Sunday, with Elias taking
the red-flag-shortened win over
Hayden and Beaubier. It was
another close finish with Elias
nipping his teammate Hayden at
the finish by 0.131 of a second.
