he 2017 American Flat Track Champi-
onship has thus far been dominated
by the Indian Motorcycle Company,
and Bryan Smith in particular. The defend-
ing Grand National Champion has now
racked up four consecutive wins on his
Allstate Insurance-backed Scout FTR750.
A week of heavy rains skipped around
the Illinois State Fairgrounds, home of the
fabled Springfield Mile, and near perfect
conditions greeted the large crowd of spec-
tators and racers alike.
When the green light flashed for the
25-lap AFT Twins main event, it looked like
business as usual as the burgundy Indian
