VOL. 54 ISSUE 20 MAY 23, 2017 P49 Seewer nearly went down right off the start of the second moto after tangling with another rider, putting him in a deep hole, but he again charged to the front and got to fourth. It would be good enough to take the overall victory. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Thomas Covington got a great start in the second moto and put it to good use. He took charge early on and never looked back for the moto win. Unfortunately for him, he started the first moto in 31st place and crossed the finish line in 14th. His 14-1 netted him fourth overall. It was a proud day for Suzuki after seeing two of its riders standing on the top two steps of the MX2 podium. Standing right next to Seewer on the podium was Seewer's teammate Hunter Lawrence, who tallied 4-3 results to grab runner-up honors. Third overall went to KTM's Pauls Jonass with a 2-5. CN MXGP 1. Suzuki's Jeremy Seewer recorded the overall win in MX2, which included a first-moto win. PHOTOGRAPHY SUZUKI-RACING.COM working on," Cairoli said. "I'm really happy with the GP win and also extending the points lead, this is very good. It's a very special track for me. I'm very happy to race here in Ger- many and Teutschenthal is one of my favorite hard-pack tracks, it is similar soil to the track I train on." Herlings said, "In the first race I was in second pretty quick but in the second one I was around 10th on the first turn and had to work my way up to second, I burned too much energy. He [Cairoli] is the eight- time champ for a reason, he's a great rider and I just couldn't close the gap [in the second moto]." In MX2, Team Suzuki's Jer- emy Seewer came away with the overall victory after going 1-4. The Swiss rider was fifth after the first lap in the first moto but slowly worked his way to the front, passing points leader Pauls Jonass late in the race to nab the win. TEUTSCHENTHAL HIGHLIGHTS
