IN THE WIND P56 a crash last month, was fifth. He struggled with a "tight back" but dealt with it the best he could and pulled off fifth overall, keep- ing him in the points race for the championship. "My back has been re- ally tight," said Bell. "I can ride through it a little, but I had to sit down here to get traction. It's a bit of bummer, but I'm stoked I can ride and I'm still in the points. Hopefully, the back will get a little better going into Glen Helen and at least be in the back of Gary's head." Sutherlin is still in charge of the series with 150 points. Seeds is 17 points back in second, with Bell just five points back in third. Robert, with his three race wins and four non- starts, is in seventh with 75 points. In Pro 2, Dante Oliveira cap- tured his third consecutive win going away, while Kyle Mercier took second and Alex Dorsey third. All were KTM-mounted. "The ski jumps were a little sketchy, but it was so fun," said Oliveira. "I felt great and my bike worked awesome. I got the holeshot and pulled ahead every lap. The single track section was dusty and whooped out, but it was fun." "The motocross section was awesome," said Mercier. "I just railed outside and kept my speed up. My hands just got beat up that last lap trying to keep my speed. This track was super fast and super fun. It was one of the best ones yet." In Pro 2 Lights, Clay Hen- geveld and Austin Serpa battled for most of the race before Hengeveld came home with the victory. Hengeveld has been in contention for the victory several times this season before issues took him out of the running. It marked the Kawasaki rider's second victory this season and he leads the points by 12 ahead of Cooper Abbott. Serpa was second on a KTM, followed by Collin Elliott on a Yamaha. Serpa had amassed a 15-sec- ond lead until he pitted and lost time. Then Hengeveld made the winning pass. Despite being dejected for not taking the win, he still sits third in points in a numerical tie with Abbott. "I'm a little bummed out," said Serpa. "I got the holeshot, ran up front until I pitted. Then Clay passed me in the whoops." Harlen Foley PRO 1. Taylor Robert (KTM) 2. Eric Yorba (KTM) 3. Gary Sutherlin (Yam) 4. Justin Seeds (Kaw) 5. Travis Damon (Hon) PRO 2 1. Dante Oliveira (KTM) 2.
