CN III VOICES W H A T Y O U A R E S A Y I N G "Joey didn't know [Zach] was coming, the last thing he saw on his board was just finish." Zach Osborne Pass I totally disagree with Steve Cox's comment "Zach Osborne has been fined by the AMA for doing what literally any former champion would've done to win a championship with two turns left in the entire season." That's BS. It doesn't matter if there was one turn left. That aggressive berm slam, now recognized by the AMA, was wrong and they should penalize Zach even more. The protest proves it. Zach was faster and was going to win it anyway in the next corner clean, maybe? Whoa, I foresee a major pay- back coming up in the outdoor tracks. Watch out Zach. James "Bonecrusher" Smith Look at the photo and replays. Osborne took Savatgy high. It really looks like Savatgy had nowhere to put his foot down and that's why he fell. Osborne did push him high and was aggressive, but there was no room for Savatgy to put his foot down. The fine is totally wrong. John Peterson I watched it over and over and thought it was an aggressive move. Zach had the inside line and Savatgy didn't. Oh well, so sorry. Don't really agree with this ruling myself. Mitch Engel AMA is getting way to politically correct nowadays. The pass was aggressive in nature. Was he supposed to send a post- card asking for an invitation and wait for a reply before he made a move? Wake up AMA, it's motocross racing indoors. By nature it's aggressive. Nothing dirty or sinister about it. Gregory Eddinger Let us look at this from a dif- ferent perspective, let's say, driving on the freeway. Most states have a law that covers driving too slow in/on certain parts of the highway/freeway. Those laws are there to prevent the crash we witnessed at the race on Saturday night. About that incident, the per- son "at fault," as we apply the rules of the road, would have been the person driving the green bike too slowly and be- ing in the way of the white bike that was traveling at the correct (and or greater) speed. As we saw in this case, it is the speed differential between the two vehicles, and the slow- er driver not being aware of the faster approaching vehicle is what caused this "crash." Mark Reha They asked Ricky Carmichael and Jeff Emig what they thought of the pass. They both said they would have done the same thing. It was for the championship. Anyway, Savatgy knew he was coming and still took the higher line in the corner. He should have taken the lower line so he didn't leave the door open for the block. Richard Dervin For all of you bench-racing experts out there, here are the facts: because of a lack of pit-board communication with his mechanic, Joey didn't know [Zach] was coming, the last thing he saw on his board was just finish. Trust me, had he known, there's no way in hell Zach would have caught him. Joey saw [Jordon] Smith crash his brains out and knew Zach was way back. Joey had also been on the ground, so when your board says just finish that's what he was going to do. Take it for what it's worth, but that's the truth. For all of you who have never raced at this level, you don't have a clue how devastating a loss this was for Joey, but the kid is a class act and will be back stronger than ever!
