IN THE WIND P24 REVEALED: 2018 KTM 250 XC-W TPI J ust as this issue was about to go live, KTM revealed its new 250 XC-W TPI. TPI stands for "transfer port injection," its new fuel-injection system for its only fuel-injected two-stroke model, which was announced last month. It's closely related 300 XC-W is still carbureted. A new cylinder features two injectors placed in the rear transfer ports, and a new EMS that features an ECU that controls ignition timing and fuel based on information from five sensors reading intake and ambient air pressure, throttle position, oil and water temperatures. Throttle body is a 39mm Dell'Orto with a butterfly valve controlled by a twin cable throttle. The 250 XC-W TPI weighs 227 pounds (without fuel). Price has not yet been announced. CN
