to win one of the 24 classes and some
of these are likely to be the riders we
will be watching battle for AMA Super-
cross and Lucas Oil Pro Motocross
wins in the coming years.
The 2017 Lucas Oil JuniorMotoX
included 23 classes and one special
class to conclude the event named the
Jesse Cup. The class list consisted
of three age groups each for 51cc
and 65cc bikes, four for 85cc bikes,
two for "Superminis" (which are 112cc
two-strokes or 150cc four-strokes),
a Schoolboy class for riders 13-16,
a 125cc two-stroke class, six 250cc
classes for A, B and C level riders and
three girls/women's classes for differ-
ent age groups. The top 12 finishers
in each of the two Supermini classes
were invited to compete in the final
race of the evening to honor the late
Jesse Masterpool.
Gage Duncan (Cobra), Mikah Car-
penter (Cobra) and Seth Dennis (KTM)
took the wins in the 51cc classes.
Diesel Thomas (KTM) won the 65cc
7-9 class, while KTM's Dax Benick won
both the 65cc 7-11 and 10-11 classes.
Kawasaki's Ryder DiFrancesco won
the 85cc 7-9 class and his Kawasaki
teammate won the 85cc 9-12 age
group. Talon Hawkins won the Mini
Senior 12-13 class on a Kawasaki and
Larry Reyes Jr. took the Mini Senior 12-
14 class on a Husqvarna. Joshua Varize
won the Supermini 12-15 class on a
Kawasaki while Ty Masterpool took the
Supermini 13-16 win on a TM.
On the bigger bikes, Suzuki's Brock
Papi won the Schoolboy 13-16 class.
Jesse Flock rode a Yamaha to the
win in the 125cc two-stroke class,
which was among the many that had
several entries. Ramyller Alves domi-
