ne week after winning
the Four-Wide Nation-
als in Charlotte, Nitro
Fish Suzuki's LE Tonglet headed
south to Atlanta Dragway and
cashed again with a victory at
the Lucas Oil NHRA Southern
Nationals. Tonglet has now
made three starts as a member
of Jerry Savoie's White Alligator
Suzuki team and he's won two of
them. In what was the best result
imaginable, Tonglet defeated
Savoie in the final round.
"This Nitro Fish Suzuki is
flying thanks to Tim [Kulungian,
crew chief]," Tonglet said. "For
us to get both bikes in the final
round is unbelievable. This won't
be the last time we have both
bikes in the final and we're going
to put on a good show. When I
joined this team I felt like we'd
win races but I did not think we'd
win the second and third races
of the season. This is all new
stuff and Tim is still learning my
bike. I just didn't think it would
come this soon in the season.
"Last year, it was just me
racing with my dad [Gary] and
my brother [GT]," Tonglet said.
