We put up the fight that we could, and that's all there was to it. At the end of the day, I don't want to be dirty, or not earn something, so I wanted to be aggressive and maybe make something happen, but at the same time, at the end of the day, I'm a fair guy. "I fought as hard as I could," Tomac continued. "And at the end of the day, people aren't going to remember the race wins for myself, they're going to remem- ber the championship for Ryan [Dungey], so he was the better guy this year." SUPERCROSS ROUND 17 / MAY 6, 2017 SAM BOYD STADIUM / LAS VEGAS, NEVADA P68 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES My Own Race: 21 JASON ANDERSON 1ST 450SX "In the beginning, I felt like I was riding really good, and it's kind of an awkward position to be in when you're in between the championship, and I don't want to be that guy to make the decision," winner Jason Anderson said, referring to the championship battle between Dungey and Tomac. "I wanted them to do their deal and battle it out, and luck- ily they did that toward the end. I had my deal with Chad [Reed], and I wanted to be on the podium, and next thing you know, they got together and got that last lap for the win, which is cool. I really feel like I could've gotten one last weekend, but at least I got one." 33 JOSH GRANT 3RD 450SX Monster Energy Kawasaki's Josh Grant ended his season on a positive, scoring his first podium finish of the season as he continues to try and reach for the level of racing he had prior to his string of injuries over the past few years. "Obviously, it was a little difficult because we knew going into it that the objective here was to get as many points as we could," Grant said, referring to points for himself as well as his championship- contending teammate Eli Tomac. "It was craziness, and I couldn't make a judgment call on it. I didn't really know what was going on until I caught up to the guys, and it was a wild ride. Obviously, it's been a while since I've been up here, just with injuries and go- ing through all the stuff that I've dealt with, but I've been working hard, and that's all that matters. I'm just looking forward to taking this momentum into outdoors and hopefully doing some work." 36 ADAM CIANCIARULO 1ST 250SX E/W The 250SX East/West Shootout has a long and storied history, and Adam Cianciarulo has always been a fan of the sport just as much as he's a racer. Although his season overall wasn't quite what he'd hoped, he was really happy with winning the East/West Shootout. "This is something I've always wanted to do [win the east/west shootout]," said Cianciarulo. "I am going to have to go back and watch the whole race to see all the action that happened behind me but I was in a groove and just tried to keep pace the entire race. It feels amazing to end the season like this." 450SX POST-RACE PRESS CONFERENCE
