out of second place at COTA by Debise
at the final corner. But the champion is
nothing if not resilient, the Texan show-
ing his mettle by taking a thrilling victory
over Frenchman Debise in a restarted
race one by just 0.179 seconds.
"We had a really good bike today,"

The MotoAmerica Supersport Cham-
pionship is, once again, distilling into
a three-way battle between Monster/
Yamalube/Y.E.S./Graves Yamaha se-
ries champion Garrett Gerloff and team-
mate JD Beach and Frenchman Valen-
tin Debise. The trio headed into round
two at Atlanta with Beach in charge of
the series after a commanding win in
the one-race meeting that was Circuit of
the Americas, but the former champion
