Beaubier was happy to be
leaving with a podium finish after
Saturday's crash. He also had
the fastest lap of the race with
a 2:09.173 with Sunday's race
pace much quicker than Satur-
day's.
"A year ago I left COTA in
bad shape, so I'm happy to walk
away with decent points today
and carry the momentum into
Atlanta," said Beaubier. "Early
first was Hayden, the second
was Beaubier, the defending
two-time MotoAmerica Super-
bike Champion bouncing back
from Saturday's crash-interrupt-
ed eighth-place finish to beat
Hayden to the line for second
place.
Elias topped Beaubier by
0.716 of a second with Hayden
just a tick over a second behind
his teammate in third place.
"Roger and I were pushing
hard from the very start of the
race since the conditions were
much warmer today," said Elias.
"Pulling off the double win this
weekend is really good for my
confidence, however, I have my
taken out by the crashing Kyle
Wyman early in the race. Hayes
remounted to finish 14th, scoring
just a single point in the opening
round of the series. Wyman was
lucky to escape injury, but didn't
remount.
TOBC Racing's Danny Es-
lick and Cycle World/Suzuki's
Hayden Gillim rounded out the
top 10 finishers and were fourth
and fifth in the Bazzaz Super-
stock 1000 class.
