"It was a good GP for us," Covington said. "We had some ups and downs but we showed the speed is there. I had a bad start in the opening moto and then it was really hard work to come through the pack. I made some good passes but as I was battling to get inside the top six, I went over the bars so had to settle for 11th. "Then in moto two my start was a lot better," Covington con- tinued. "I was fourth for most of the race but felt really good and pushed hard for third. Overall, I'm really happy with my riding in "I'm feeling really good, win- ning my first GP and doing it on a hard-packed track is really good for me as I'm normally best on sand," Garcia said. "I don't think there is words for the way I feel, it's really emotional be- cause it not easy to win a GP." Jonass claimed second overall with his 1-2 score, while Lieber ended up third overall with a 3-5 score. Then came Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's hard-charging Jonass to take the win, with American Husky rider Thomas Covington snatching a well-earned third place in the moto. Garcia, normally consid- ered a bit of a sand specialist, was almost as happy about win- ning his first-ever GP as he was having done it on a hard-packed track.
