MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES, AN FIM WORLD
ROUND 14 / APRIL 8, 2017
CENTURYLINK FIELD / SEATTLE, WASHINGTON
P50
W
ith nine races left in the 2017
450SX Supercross Champion-
ship, Monster Energy Kawasaki's
Eli Tomac trailed points leader Ryan Dungey
by 27 points, and we posited that if Tomac
won every race from then on out, even if
Red Bull KTM's Dungey finished second in
every race, Tomac would come away the
champion by virtue of having won the most
main events.
Now, there are only three races left in the
series, and after a five-race Tomac winning
streak, his second-place finish in Seattle
sends him and Dungey into the Easter
break tied atop the championship standings
with 294 points each, leaving a three-race
dash for the title to commence on April 22
in Salt Lake City, Utah.
In the 250SX West Championship, which
picked back up again after a seven-week
break, the race for the title tightened up
just a bit, but Justin Hill still holds a com-
manding lead with two rounds left on the
schedule. With a second-place finish, he
lost some ground to Seattle winner Aaron
Plessinger, but Hill has things all but locked
up with an 18-point lead with the Salt Lake
and Las Vegas rounds still to run.
