CN III VOICES W H A T Y O U A R E S A Y I N G "No one sits on that line worrying; they sit on that line focused and alive." Jamison Minor With the ever-so-recent passing of young impressionable rac- ers, I came to a retrospective conclusion as to why they do it [race]. It is to live! I felt this, also—he exhilara- tion of lining up on a starting line and anticipating that start. It is easy to explain. Nothing you experience in life can take away everything in one's mind than that of wanting to be first into that corner. All pain, grief, life's prob- lems, are expelled from the mind at that instant. It truly is living. The rest of that ride takes its own course, with skill, with luck and sometimes with tragic results. No one sits on that line worrying; they sit on that line focused and alive. RIP #27u Jamison Minor. Tewks Seattle Supercross What an incredible race. I'd say Ryan Dungey had the race of his life from last up to fourth, but then I have to go back and think about Daytona. Those two rides show why he is the champion. The next couple of races will be really exciting! If Dungey and Tomac are close off the start it may be the race of the year—the "Dunge" is not done. Al Banta Anybody still think Dungey lost the fire? Howard Halterman St. Louis SX: Blue Flag Blues Dungey was a crybaby in the heat—laughable. Reed was a jerk in the main. AMA did right. Too much of the wrong kind of pride out there from both, especially Reed. Lance Gorton Reed [moved] over numerous times—[he] just stayed on the gas [and] gave opportunity. Dungey should have pushed it a little more. Tom Prenger Thumbs down to Chad Reed. Whether or not Ryan Dungey could have caught Eli Tomac and passed him is debatable. Reed simply ruined for the fans what was at that moment a good race for the lead—some- thing that has not happened for quite a few races. Aaron Richardson Chad was blue flagged and he held his line, which is rule three. Not his fault Dungey couldn't pass a lapper. Jason Clatt Chad Reed's actions at the St. Louis SX was one of the biggest disgraces that I have ever witnessed. His childish behavior robbed the fans of a potentially great race. It hurt us more than it did Dungey, and that is unforgivable. Perhaps he should look up the definition of the word "pro- fessional!" Matt Rider I don't think Dungey would have won, but he would have been right there at the end. I think he was more interested in finishing in second than doing a banzai pass and possibly going down. Chad used to be called "Sad Reed" when he and James Stewart were doing stupid stuff like this. Sad that he is back to his old ways. Shane Weeks Empire of Dirt: Rivalry… Steve Cox, sorry, but I've got to disagree with you about the Dungey/Reed controversy. Rivalry is one thing when both contestants are playing fair and square. But what Reed, a 35-year-old professional su- percross/motocross rider, did to Dungey was anything but the right thing. Reed has been in the game long enough to know what a blue flag means and for him to do what he did was classless, petty, immature and juvenile and, for what its worth, has lost my respect. Paul A.
