SUPERCROSS ROUND 14 / APRIL 8, 2017 CENTURYLINK FIELD / SEATTLE, WASHINGTON P58 the standings with 294 apiece. "Just keep doing what we're doing," Tomac said. "It sounds just kind of typical, but it's what we've got to do. Go out there and try to win races. Just give it our all—it's all we can do now. At least we're not chasing anymore. the way it goes." Millsaps was fifth in front of Tickle, Blake Baggett, Webb, Reed and Anderson's team- mate Dean Wilson. With three rounds left to run in the championship, we now have co-points-leaders, with Dungey and Tomac tied atop many championship points as we could and not make any big mistakes," Dungey said. "Over- all it was a good night—we salvaged what we could. I felt great, the bike felt awesome and everything was all lined up—we just had a little mishap in the first turn, but that's just MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES My Own Race: 3 ELI TOMAC 2ND 450SX "That was a bit chaotic," said Eli Tomac. "I didn't have the best start but I found a bunch of rhythm combinations early in the race that were vital to me moving through the pack. Once I made it up to about fourth, it was difficult to keep my momentum going and unfortunately I went down. Luckily I was able to get back up and everything was good on the bike, so I could keep pushing and I took one final position before the checkers. I have the red plate now and we'll just keep doing what we've been doing." 46 JUSTIN HILL 2ND 250SX WEST "The track was pretty crazy tonight," said Justin Hill who summarized his night. "Early on I fell into my groove and did what I needed to do to stay safe. I was a bit more conservative than I probably had to be, but I doubt that increasing the risk would have benefitted me. I have an 18-point lead in the championship now with two races to go, so I'm happy with where we are." 57 JIMMY DECOTIS 6TH 250SX WEST "I wasn't going to get fourth tonight, I was either going to get third or I was going to crash," said Geico Honda's Jimmy Decotis of his sixth-place finish. "It's been a long seven weeks of having to think about getting two fourths at the last two races. During the break, I rode with Coop [Cooper Webb] and AP [Aaron Pless- inger] and we had fun. And during the week, I can hang right in there with them if I'm feeling good. So, AP and I had fun battling in the heat race. I'm starting to fight back when I'm up there, because I'm starting to believe in myself now. I was just trying to do my best; I gave it everything I had. Mitchell [Oldenburg] passed me [for third] and I thought maybe I was dropping off, but then I saw we were starting to catch back up to [second place rider Justin] Hill. I knew we had two laps to go, so I laid it down and went as fast as I could on the next-to-last lap. Going to the white flag, I just missed the rut coming up the jump. And if I had hit the finish line jump, it would have been bad. I backed off at the last second, went into a mud hole, and a couple of guys ran into me. It ended up being a sixth, bummed about that, but I did every- thing I could. I passed a few guys back, I put up a lot more fight than I have in the past, and I nailed all of my starts. That's good progress." 38 SHANE MCELRATH 6TH 250SX WEST "The track was pretty intense with how rutted it got," said TLD Red Bull KTM's Shane McElrath. "It was a lot about staying focused and minimizing the mistakes. I want to be on the podium, but after the conditions we faced today, we're safe and healthy so we'll take a fifth place." After a blazing hot start to the champi- onship, McElrath has cooled off a bit but is still third in the standings, just four points behind Plessinger.
