and I was able to get up and finish it. And then get Jason [Anderson] there. So consid- ering all things, that second place wasn't something I was expecting early on there. On the very last lap, Dungey found his way by Millsaps for fourth when Millsaps appeared to let up for the champ. "Once I did get out front, I mean, not all the way up to the front, up to about Cooper [Webb], I kind of hit a little bit of a wall. Luckily noth- ing was bent or tweaked up easy to make mistakes—the track was technical and had some rocks. It means a lot to get this [win], my first victory in Dallas. I was missing my mechanic Frankie, so today I'm really proud and happy." Tomac was very happy with second place and to be tied with Dungey for the points lead. "I didn't get off to the great- est of starts; I was pretty buried back, then ended up finding a few different rhythm combinations early on that Jason Anderson got out in front early but couldn't hold off Musquin on the rutted track. Anderson finished out the night on the podium.
