he Indian Motorcycle Company continues
to dominate the American Flat Track Se-
ries as defending series champion Bryan
Smith (Indian Motorcycle/Allstate Motorcycle
Insurance) dominated the Dirt Track at Charlotte
Motor Speedway.
Looking to repeat their podium sweep of last
week in Georgia, the burgundy-and-black-clad
Indian team took control of the 25-lap main
event at the flash of the green. It was the winner
of the previous two rounds, Jared Mees (Indian
Motorcycle/Rogers Racing) with the holeshot,
Brad Baker (Indian Motorcycle/Allstate Motor-
cycle Insurance) and Smith were all over Mees.
The lead trio was running three wide exit-
ing turn two when they came upon a downed
rider. Jake Shoemaker had spun down on his
Weirbach Racing/Kawasaki USA-backed mount
