SUPERCROSS MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES ROUND 13 / APRIL 1, 2017 THE DOME AT AMERICA'S CENTER / ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI P80 48 CHRISTIAN CRAIG 5TH 250SX EAST "Practice started off good, ended up qualifying fifth," said Geico Honda's Christian Craig. "Going into my heat I had third gate pick. I got a pretty good start and ended up coming out first in the first turn. Joey [Savatgy] took a different line so he passed me through the first rhythm section. I stayed on him the entire race, which was really good for me. I never let him out of sight and kept fighting. The main event is the same story I've been telling all season, I feel like. A crappy jump left me almost last and I had to work my way up, once again. I ended up getting fifth which was good compared to where I started but extremely frustrating at this point. I'm not a fifth- place guy and I hope other people still believe that." 21 JASON ANDERSON 4TH 450SX Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Jason Anderson got a win in his heat race but couldn't parlay that into a podium in the main event. "I got off to a good start in my heat race," said Anderson, "and from there I took the win. It was nice to get back on top. I figured I could keep the momentum going into the main event and got a pretty decent start. I just kind of got stuck there in fourth place and I couldn't really make much happen. I still rode really solid. Those guys were fast out there tonight." 15 DEAN WILSON 12TH 450SX Dean Wilson had to qualify for the main through the LCQ, which left him with a near last gate pick for the main. "All-in-all it was a good learning experience for me," said Wilson. "I was sixth in timed qualifying, and rode quite well in my heat race, but was one spot out of qualifying. I fell in the semi so I was pretty bummed about that because I had to go to the LCQ. The LCQ was good, but then I had the far outside gate in the main. I did the best I could at the start, but it didn't really work. I slowly picked through the pack and made it out with a 12th. I made some decent passes but was just a little slow at the beginning." 33 JOSH GRANT 5TH 450SX Monster Energy Kawasaki's Josh Grant cracked the top five in the 450SX main. "I'm really happy with our results tonight," said Grant. "I had a great start in the main, rode well and had some good battles. To walk away with a top-five is definitely a step in the right direction and where I feel I belong. I'm looking forward to building off this momentum next week." 14 COLE SEELY 6TH 450SX Honda HRC's Cole Seely qualified for the main through a semi but got banged around a bit in the first turn in the final. He came around the first lap in 12th and went to work right away moving into eighth by the end of lap two. He was able to move into sixth by the seventh lap where he would finish out the race. "It was a tough race and coming through the pack made it more difficult," said Seely. "I'm happy to have made it up to sixth, but I should have been able to get a better start. We'll keep gun- ning for that podium again and hopefully when we go back outdoors next week we'll be able to show off that speed." 20 BROC TICKLE 8TH 450SX "I always look forward to going to St. Louis," said RCH Suzuki's Broc Tickle after his eigth-place finish in the 450SX main. "The dirt is always awesome and that's what makes it stand out for me. All in all, the weekend was solid. I felt a little off all day, to be honest. I just couldn't get comfortable. It wasn't the bike, it was just me. I wasn't 100 percent in tune, but I still came away with a top 10 and ended up eighth in the main event. Even with a not-so-stellar start, I worked my way up, made a couple passes and put in some good, consistent laps. I still need to dial in those starts and be more consistent."
