We got to see an example of
that in Detroit, which marked
round six of the 2017 250SX
Eastern Regional Supercross
Series. Rockstar Energy
Husqvarna's Zach Osborne has
been by far the most dominant
racer in the series to this point,
winning three of the first five
rounds with his only finish off
the podium coming in Daytona,
where he finished fifth after start-
ing way back in the field. And he
led the points standings by nine
points coming into Detroit.
But Detroit may have supplied
the one disastrous race Osborne
couldn't afford, and through no
fault of his own. After the gate
dropped for the main event,
LCQ winner Jordon Smith, of the
TLD/Red Bull KTM team, came
screaming in from the far out-
side aiming for the apex of turn
one, and when he got there, he
clipped Osborne's front wheel,
sending Osborne and KTM
privateer Dakota Alix careen-
