50 Years Ago April 6, 1967
Our annual April Fools issue hit the mailboxes 50 years ago, and we featured
an illustration of dirt bikes riding on the moon with the caption explaining that
with the rapidly dwindling places to ride in the California desert and all of the
land closures, racers were looking elsewhere to race and they evidently found
it. Who knows what else in the issue was "fake news," but our coverage of drag
racing at Irwindale Raceway and the Jack Ross Hare Scrambles seemed
pretty legit.
