"When you slide-job each other,
it's the slower way of going, but
you're trying to knock a guy off
his line," said Mees. "He did it
to me, I did it to him. He did it
to me back and he was exiting
so high on the racetrack, and I
was so low. I was coming up the
racetrack and he was trying to
come back down. We just kind
of got caught up and he went
back down," said Mees. "I found
something there. We started just
kind of slide-jobbing each other
because we couldn't really pass.
His line and my line were the
same so I couldn't just run right
into him. The only thing we could
do was slide-job each other."
As starter Kevin Clark dis-
played the five laps to go sign
the action really heated up.
"He (Mees) made a mistake
and went wide and, just like,
waved me right by basically," said
Halbert. "It was cool to see that."
Halbert was never able to gain
much of an advantage, but what
lead he had went away as the
two leaders left a raging battle
behind them.
"Sammy had a little bit of a lead
and then I started running him
Brad Baker leads defending
champ Bryan Smith.
