FLAT TRACK 2017 AMERICAN FLAT TRACK SERIES ROUND 1 / MARCH 16, 2017 DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY / DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA P78 AFT SINGLES The 15-lap AFT Singles main looked like it was going to belong to Wyatt Anderson, who was riding the Water's Autobody Racing KTM for the first time and his holeshot coupled with a smooth, consistent style was keeping West Bend Harley-Da- vidson's Jesse Janisch at bay. Janisch kept trying to push his Honda around the outside of Anderson to no avail. As the lead duo battled away, Estenson Rac- ing's Dalton Gauthier and K.C. Cycle/Team 95's Kolby Carlile joined the fray. Finally on lap 11, Janisch slipped wide and Carlile and Gauthier both took advantage. Not content with third Gauthier main. In the main he was able to hang with the lead pack and come away with a very well- earned fifth place. Mullen was able to limp home in sixth over The Estenson Logistics-backed Yamaha of Sammy Halbert. Jeffrey Carver also had to use his provisional and brought his Carver's BBQ/ Ben Evans Racing/Mack Daddy Racing-backed Kawasaki home in eighth. Sammy-O Racing's Andrew Luker assumed the lead in the Saddlemen Rookie of the Year chase with a ninth-place finish on his Kawasaki. Rounding out the top 10 was Jake Shoemaker, who was making his debut aboard the Weirbach Racing Kawasaki. get there," said Johnson. "Finally in the semi I felt pretty good. I worked my way up to fourth in that and had some pretty good lap times. I felt pretty good going into the main. I knew that the first turn was going to be a huge thing. There were a lot of bikes and a little bit of room. I kind of played it safe a little bit through turn one. I made sure I made it through there clean. I just started picking my way through. Guys were kind of dropping out. Honestly I didn't even know that I was in fourth. It was good." Bronson Bauman had his best day since moving up to the AFT Twins class, winning his semi over Vanderkooi and Smith to grab the pole position for the TT specialist Henry Wiles seems to be adjusting to the twins just fine. He got on the podium in third.
