IN THE WIND P50 JONES, STEWART TOP 6 HOUR A field of 94 teams showed up to contest the John Burr Cycles 6 Hours of Glen Helen on March 19, the first round of the 2017 Endurance Racing Series. Justin Jones teamed up with Trevor Stewart to take on the rough and silty course aboard a JCR Honda 450, and the duo dominated the field to take the overall win. Jones and Stewart started out the day with a commanding lead from the first lap, but it was no cakewalk to the finish. After build- ing up a lead of over five minutes, the team's pit stop put them back about 10 minutes, leaving them to play catch up to the Travis Frohlich squad for the next sev- eral laps. But Jones and Stewart were able to hoist themselves back on top before the finish. Nick Stover teamed up with Nick Garvin to take third overall, though they didn't make it easy on themselves. They rounded the first lap at the back of the field in 71st place, and spent the race playing catch-up, which wasn't easy to do in the muddy trenches and dusty ridges of the course. But they managed to make their way up to third overall behind Frohlich's Thousand Oaks Powersports' KTM. The ironman class had quite a big showing, with over 20 entries in the field. Jarrett Smith completed the contest at the head of the class, and an im- pressive 12th overall.
