CN III VOICES W H A T Y O U A R E S A Y I N G "RD1 went into full beast mode and carved through riders on a rapidly changing and rough track with the type of skill champions possess." Daytona Supercross Three great standout rides: Of course, Eli Tomac, riding quite the wave of confidence, getting good starts and setting blistering paces; Jeremy Martin with a terrific 450 debut, cool under pressure, and rid- ing with precision. Future champion material there; and then there is Ryan Dungey. RD1 went into full beast mode and carved through riders on a rapidly changing and rough track with the type of skill champions pos- sess. Then at the end, he dug down deep and risked a great finish in getting fourth from Cole Seely. Say what you want, but the man has heart. Jim Bunch I'm not here to bash the AMA, but the AMA dropped the ball on rules at Daytona. Go back to the start, but not the one shown about seven minutes into the race; it's not as good an angle to watch the gates frame by frame. Musquin smashed the gate and broke through as the pin dropped. This sets off a chain reaction on the second gate next to him, which binds the next two gates of Anderson and Dungey. Both Anderson and Dungey clearly were disadvantaged and lost a wheel-length because of this and thus a restart was in order. As for Musquin, he was in clear violation of rule 4.21d: "jumping or fouling the gate may result in a penalty of one lap or disqualification." If I were KTM I would be having a very serious conversa- tion about why this race was allowed to continue without a restart. Gregory Eddinger Can I just say that sometimes we need to let next level stuff rise? Adam Cianciarulo re- minded me of first watching RV [Ryan Villopoto] coming through the 250 ranks: fast, flowing and not looking back until he stepped on the podium. Great stuff! Kevin M Wueste Great ride, J-Mart [Jeremy Martin]! Honda should keep you in the seat; just got to get in shape for the 450. Real fun to watch Jerome Britting Thailand WorldSBK Kawasaki Factory Rac- ing has the right stuff right now. Ducati is the only team that can offer a decent fight. Everyone else is in the same boat as Hayden/Honda. Adam Wright Beginning to wonder if Nicky and Honda will ever get that bike working right. Andrus Chesley I don't think Honda will get [Hayden's bike] right, because their superbike program has been on the back burner for too many years. Johnny Rea is killing it. I don't know if the Ducatis will be a real fight for the title. The Panigale engine is so dif- ferent from what Ducatis used to be. The way Rea is riding—it's incredible. Two poles, four wins so far.
