ENDURANCE WORLD
CHAMPION ANTHONY
DELHALLE KILLED
F
ive-time and current FIM Endurance World
Champion, Anthony Delhalle, was killed in
France, March 9, while testing for the upcoming
EWC season.
Part of the dominating Suzuki Endurance Racing
Team (SERT) with teammates Vincent Phillipe and
Etienne Masson, Delhalle was conducting testing
of the new Suzuki GSX-R1000R at the Circuit Paul
Armagnac in southwest France when he crashed at the end of the pit straight in the
first session. He was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Delhalle was one of the most experienced and widely respected endurance rac-
ers in the world, having taken the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016 world titles, and
was leading the 2017 standing with SERT after clinching victory at round one of the
2016/2017 championship at the Bol d'Or 24 Hour last September. CN
Anthony Delhalle
was hugely
respected and a
five-time world
champion. He is
survived by his wife
and two children.
BIMOTA EB1 ELECTRIC CONCEPT BIKE
F
our design students from ISD
Valenciennes in France have
come up with what they believe
an electric Bimota could look
like if the bespoke Italian com-
pany were to build such a bike.
Named the EB1, this very
computer-generated video
shows an electric version of
what looks like the company's
gorgeous Tesi 3D, sans Ducati
motor, instead fitted with a two-
speed electric power plant, one
that has easy removability of the
battery packs, with the body-
work designed for maximum
airflow to keep everything cool.
That all sounds great but
when you see the rider doing
his thing on the motorcycle held
on hydraulic stands to mimic the
curves and flows of a racetrack,
that's where it starts to lose us.
Bring on the bike, but let us ride
in the real world! CN
Imagine your new
ride with no engine
and red tires!
