SUPERCROSS ROUND 7 / FEBRUARY 18, 2017 US BANK STADIUM / MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA P60 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES My Own Race: 14 COLE SEELY 5TH 450SX Honda's Cole Seely struggled throughout the day and had a crash in his heat race with Marvin Musquin that put him into a semi. He had the 11th gate pick, but he still managed to pull the holeshot. At that point, he had the table set for a great finish, until he lost the front end in a corner. He was up quickly and put in a charge to come from 10th when he got up to finish a solid fifth. "I was glad to turn a rough day around with a good start, but as luck would have it, I went down on the first lap. I got up and was about 10th, made some quick passes then worked my way into fifth by about the halfway point. With the way the whole day went, all the hurdles I feel like I had to overcome, and how I felt being so off, coming away with fifth is still a positive for me. I'm go- ing to try and take the positives from this weekend, learn from the negatives and put them in the past." 36 ADAM CIANCIARULO 5TH 250SX EAST In his first supercross race back since 2014, Cianciarulo was ready to shake off the cobwebs and prove his speed on the track. He qualified fourth overall and finished just behind his teammate Joey Savatgy in his heat race. Once the main event kicked off, Cianciarulo had a bit of work to do after a midpack start, but he was up to the challenge and made passes all the way up fifth. "I think I rode pretty tight since it has been a few years since I've been behind a supercross starting gate," Cianciarulo said. "I think my confidence is there and happy that we got some good points out of my first race back as we head to Atlanta." 20 BROC TICKLE 7TH 450SX RCH Suzuki's Broc Tickle was once again solid in Minneapolis. He got to the main event through his semi, then got a bad start and had to fight his way forward to seventh. "Outside of the first 20 seconds, the main event was awesome," Tickle said. "My start wasn't as good as it should have been, but I made some quick passes and got into a good flow. I was actually in good position to race for fifth or sixth, but I made a couple mistakes and lost some ground. That was good motivation to keep pushing forward. We've had a little bit of a slow start but things are rolling in the right direction. We're making progress every week." 48 CHRISTIAN CRAIG 12TH 250SX EAST Along with Joey Savatgy and Zach Osborne, Geico Honda's Christian Craig was also touted to be a title contender prior to round one. He qualified third during the day, and continued to show speed in winning his heat race, and then it came apart in the main event. "I honestly was having a great day in Minneapolis," Craig said. "I qualified third and felt good. The track was really easy which kind of makes it hard to separate yourself or make passes, but I got the holeshot in my heat and took off. I ended up with almost a nine- second lead when I finished. I was really happy with how I rode in the heat, and everyone on the team was really pumped with how I rode and we were all expecting great things for the main. But I got a horrible start and kind of just fell apart mentally. I wasn't riding like myself and kept making stupid mistakes. I was able to work my way up to 12th after being almost last, but I should have been way more up there than that. Luckily, I got my bad race out of the way and can learn from it. I started in 17th last year at A1 so it's an improvement this year I guess!"
