WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
T
he Arlington Supercross has just delivered
one of the strangest races in years. Round
six of the Monster Energy/AMA Super-
cross Series saw a new winner, sure, and that's
not something that happens every weekend.
But that's not what was so strange about it. The
strange stuff came in the form of the event being
a daytime race (see Briefly...) and in the form of
the sheer number of mechanical issues suffered
by top racers throughout the two main events.
And the thing is, there didn't seem to be
any rhyme or reason for it. The only thing that
changed from last week was the venue (the dirt
and the stadium itself), yet most of the failures
would be hard to pin on the dirt.
The end result is the points chases in both
classes being blown wide open in favor of both
championship leaders. But it's far from over yet.
