MW Motorrad's Marco Melandri made a little bit of history for himself and
his manufacturer this weekend with the first double World Su- perbike win for both rider and
ENI FIM SUPERBIKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
BMW. But only after he and his team had made a breakthrough in the seemingly endless fight against chatter on a four-cylinder machine in modern-day World Superbike racing. His main championship rival,
and the only one ahead of him in the championship, Max Biaggi
had the opposite problem - chat- ter he did not expect at his favor- ite circuit - so he ended up only sixth and fourth on his factory Aprilia. By his standards at Brno, it was a virtual disaster. The end result is that leaving
Brno, with (probably) five rounds and 10 races left to run, Melandri
