ELI TOMAC: A WANTED MAN
E
ven though it's only February,
there is already talk about a
few high-profile supercross/mo-
tocross riders possibly making
changes for next year. One of
those is Eli Tomac.
Tomac is currently into his
second year of his two-year deal
with the Monster Energy Kawa-
saki Team, so there is a chance
that he could be sought after by
other teams, such as KTM or
Husqvarna, when the end of the
2017 racing season rolls around.
Ryan Dungey is currently in
the final year of his contract
with Red Bull KTM, and he has
hinted in the past about this pos-
sibly being his final year of rac-
ing before retiring. When Cycle
News asked Dungey straight
up about this possibly being his
last, he made no commitment
either way, saying he wanted to
wait to see how the 2017 season
pans out.
There has been talk in the
pits lately about Tomac being
Dungey's possible replacement
on the Red Bull KTM Team or
the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna
Team. Either way, Tomac will
most likely be hot property at
the end of the '17 season, espe-
cially if he keeps riding like he
did at the Arizona and Oakland
Supercross rounds.

With Ryan Dungey's
racing future in
question and Eli
Tomac's contract
with Kawasaki set to
run out in 2017, "silly
season" could be
very interesting come
September.

N
uviz, Inc., a budding company in the
head-up display (HUD) segment, announced
it has secured an investment from Pierer Industrie
AG, the parent company behind KTM Motor-
cycles, Husqvarna Motorcycles and WP Suspen-
sion. The investment will enable Nuviz to finalize
product development and launch the company's
head-up display technology for motorcyclists.
"This strategic invesetment is very exciting for
Nuviz as it is a testament to our technology leader-
ship in the HUD and connected riding space, and
further emphasizes the demand and need for the
user experiences we have set out to create," said
Malte Laass, Nuviz founder and chief strategy
officer. "As we approach our launch, we are very
happy to have found a partner with deep industry
knowledge and the expertise and patience need-
ed to build a sustainable technology business."
The investment from Pierer Industrie will also
open the door for product integration with KTM
and Husqvarna Motorcycles.
"Nuviz is set to release one of the most antici-
pated motorcycle products of the year," com-
mented KTM Group CEO Stefan Pierer. "We
look forward to working with Nuviz as they unveil
new HUD and connectivity capabilities that stand
to transform the motorcycling experience as we
know it." CN
