SUPERCROSS ROUND 4 / JANUARY 28, 2017 GLENDALE, ARIZONA / UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM P58 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES My Own Race: 18 DAVI MILLSAPS 5TH 450SX Rocky Mountain ATV-MC KTM's Davi Millsaps quali- fied third during the day in Arizona, then followed that up with his first top-five of the year. "I had a rough go this whole off-season with doing my wrist and my thumb in Canada, and waiting too long to have sur- gery on it because we couldn't really figure out what was wrong with it. It took a long time to heal, and it delayed me getting going in the off-season to prepare for the year. Then three weeks before Anaheim I broke my ribs, and then I got sick, and then all the rain came. It really hasn't been working in my favor to do anything until this past week, and we figured out a lot of stuff this last week with bike settings. I went back-and-forth between my practice bike and my race bike, and I really felt more comfortable on my practice bike, so we were scratching our heads. But we found some stuff and we took some shots in the dark. In first practice, second practice and third practice, we had all different settings in each one. But we found it. I'm starting to feel like myself again, so hopefully the rain stays away and I can get some of my speed and fitness back." 14 COLE SEELY 4TH 450SX Honda's Cole Seely was up front in the main event, but despite putting up a heck of a fight, he was forced to relent to the charging Chad Reed and Ryan Dungey. "I was searching," Seely said. "I was trying everything to try and catch back up to Eli and to get away from the guys behind me, but those guys were going fast, for sure. I just couldn't make it happen tonight. I know it's not too bad to finish fourth on a bad night, but the thing that sucks is that I started second. I want to win. That's what I'm here for. I was feeling really confident after the semi because I felt awesome in the semi and was nailing all my lines, and then unfortunately the lines changed a lot in the main event." 24 AUSTIN FORKNER 3RD 250SX Austin Forkner scored his first podium of his career in Arizona, and he's happy, but not satisfied. "It's just that the guys are all really fast really early, and throughout the whole race, so you've got to put your- self in a good position," Forkner said. "I didn't do that in Anaheim and I didn't really do that in San Diego, so I've been working on starts. Man, my starts have been dialed for the past couple weeks. Two perfect starts tonight—two holeshots. I knew that if I just rode around tonight and didn't make mistakes like I did in the heat race that I'd be on the box and that's what I did. I'm pumped."
