take Dungey by surprise?
"It did!" Dungey said. "I knew
it was a Yamaha behind me. I
didn't know if it was Cooper or
Chad, but I got a glimpse at the
scoreboard, and he was be-
hind me for a while, and in the
whoops. I watched his semi,
and he was really good in the
whoops, so I knew I had to
get those down so he wouldn't
come up the inside. I just set
my sights on trying to make the
pass on Seely, and I was able
to, which was good, and then
he took the position back in the
sand. Then, in the next corner,
Seely slid and I was boxed in
down that whole rhythm lane,
and there came Chad. Chad
was riding good. I don't want to
say it was just a matter of when
he was going to pass us, but I
knew he was going to at least be
there the whole time. His bike
was hooking up good and he
had it down, so I wanted to make
a late charge there, but I wasn't
able to."
At the finish, Tomac took his
first win of the year, cruising it
in with 11 seconds to spare over
Reed, and then Dungey. Seely
held on to fourth, and Rocky
Mountain ATV-MC KTM's Davi
Millsaps was fifth. Then came
Brayton, fast qualifier Blake
Baggett and Reed's teammate
Cooper Webb, who started out-
side the top 10 and then spent
much of the main event going
back and forth with Dungey's
teammate Marvin Musquin,
eventually getting the better of
