IN THE WIND P32 FAITH, OWEN SPLIT NASHVILLE ARENACROSS WINS T he fourth round of the 2017 Amsoil Arenacross season made its stop at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, January 28, which saw two dif- ferent main-event winners in the 250AX class, but it was Jace Owens (TiLUBE/Jack Link's/ TUF Racing Honda) who came away with the overall victory to extend his lead in the 2017 championship. In the East Regional AX Lites class, Jacob Williamson (Bab- bitt's/GPF/Monster Energy Kawasaki/MMCR) came away with the victory. Owen didn't get the start he wanted in the first of two main events. He was fourth after the first lap but struggled to make passes. Owen spent the rest of the race battling with Matt Goerke who he passed on lap nine of the 15-lap race. Owen would hold the position for the rest of the race, unable to gain much ground on the two riders ahead of him. Ben Lamay (TiLUBE/Jack Link's/TUF Racing Honda) ended up taking the win, the first of the season, ahead of Gavin Faith (Team Babbitt's/Monster Energy/Amsoil Kawasaki). Chris Blose (Rockstar Ener- gy/OTSFF/Yamaha) was fifth. Owen bounced backed for the win in the second race. He got out in front early and never looked back, holding off Goerke the whole way. Blose fought his way into third early in the race and held off Faith for third place. Gared Steinke was fourth, while Lemay slipped back to fifth. Owen's 3-1 bettered Faith's 2-4 for the overall victory, while Goerke took third overall with a 4-2. Lamay was fourth overall despite a win on Saturday and Blose fifth with a 5-3 score. In the points race, Owen (with seven main-event wins) now leads Faith (two wins) by 21 points, and Georke is third, four points behind Faith. Williamson finished ahead of Isaac Teasdale (KTM) to win the East Lites main, while points leader Justin Cooper (Yamaha) grabbed third. Cooper holds just a four-point lead on Williamson in the cham- pionship, with Heath Harrison (KTM) in third, 12 points behind Williamson. Teasdale is fourth in the championship, just two points behind Harrison. CN 250AX Main 1 1. Ben Lamay (Hon) 2. Gavin Faith (Kaw) 3. Jace Owen (Hon) 4. Matt Goerke (Yam) 5.
