Hill snatched the lead away
quickly and Plessinger just
couldn't quite hold the pace as
Hill sped away. Points leader
Shane McElrath started just
outside the top five and battled
his way into third, around Hill's
rookie teammate Austin Forkner,
five laps in to the 17-lap main
Aaron Plessinger got the hole-
shot in the main event, but once
he had it, he didn't really know
what to do with it.
"I'm getting better at my
starts," Plessinger said. "I've just
got to get used to being up there
earlier in the race. I kind of froze
up and rode a little tight, but
we're working on it, and we're
going to add some intensity this
a fun race [Anaheim II]. I tucked
right in behind Aaron [Pless-
inger] off the start, and then him
and Austin [Forkner] banged
together and I was able to get
around them. That was fortunate
for me. I got out front, and just
listened to what my dad told me
all the way around the track."
For the first time this year,
Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha's
Aaron Plessinger (23) got out in
front early but couldn't stay there.
He was not happy with second.
