"The year's going to be fun;
there's a lot of competition this
year."
The battle for the final podium
spot was equally torrid and
went down to Rockstar Energy
Husqvarna Factory Racing Off-
Road Team's Argubright and
Purvines DA8 Racing Yamaha-
mounted Sutherlin. "Honestly,
"It's hard to compete against
Taylor who's a world-class
enduro racer and EnduroCross
racer," Brabec added. "The last
10 miles, Taylor and I were going
back and forth. I saw camp and
I knew where we were, and I
knew I didn't have much time. I
knew whoever was at the bottom
of the last valley first was go-
ing to win because of the high
of us closer together; we were
going back and forth all day! To
read the terrain was almost im-
possible. To lead the race today
was slower than to follow, just
because of the dangers and the
arrows. You had to do a lot more
thinking and I felt like leading out
was kind of like navigating [at
Dakar]—your eyeballs are always
wandering.
The cold, wet conditions
seemed to be right up
Kacy Martinez's alley, the
two-time GNCC champ
dominated Women A in
her first-ever desert race.
