Jeremy Martin (Hon) scores last year, coming in 5, 2, 1. It's a good season so far; I just need to stay in it. I'm really pumped to be on the team. I felt off all day. Just me, I just felt off, I felt weird. I didn't tell nobody, but I felt off. The guys just did so much good work for me." Then came Martin's teammate Jimmy Decotis, Plessinger's teammate Dan Reardon, 55Fifty Yamaha's Tyler Bowers, Munn Husqvarna's Josh Hansen and then Martin. McElrath still holds the points lead over Plessinger by six points, with Hill one point farther back, then Davalos nine points behind Hill, while the champion- ship is already looking out of reach for Forkner, Decotis, Mar- tin, and the rest of the field with only six rounds left in the cham- pionship as the series heads to Phoenix next weekend. CN MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES Ken Roczen has never really been known to be a "crasher." He's had a few crashes, and a few scary in- cidents that could've been crashes (such as when he faced the triple in Oakland a couple years ago). Roc- zen is normally pretty controlled. And since he got on his Hondas, he's managed to look smooth and aggressive at the same time, like he can put the bike anywhere he wants at whatever speed he wants to go. That being said, there's an eerie similarity between Roczen's crash in the second main event at the Monster Energy Cup and the one he suffered at Anaheim II. Both happened in rhythm sections, and he looks completely under control right before the crashes, but things begin to go wrong when he slightly over-jumps a jump. At the Monster Cup, he over-jumped a jump, then got unsettled and lost his drive off the next jump, causing him to case that triple, which sent him flying over the bars. Luckily, his body almost entirely landed on the backside of a jump, minimizing the damage. Then, at Anaheim II, he very barely over- jumps part of the rhythm section and the suspension didn't have time to extend before he hit the next jump face, and it immediately kicked him spectacularly over the bars. After the race, Marvin Musquin said that he got kicked in that section, too, and that he changed his rhythm through the section to avoid the jump face that sent Roczen over the bars. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Ja- son Anderson looked to be on the verge of a breakthrough race at Anaheim II after two straight races with terrible starts where he finished Briefly... 250SX West Highlights cont. on page 64
