IN THE WIND P48 VURBMOTO PULLS THE PLUG A fter a 10-year run, moto- cross/supercross website Vurbmoto.com is calling it quits. It was recently announced on its website that it will be signing off at the end of the month. This was posted on its website January 20: It's with heavy hearts that we have come to terms with a decision to sign off at the end of January. Since Vurbmoto's inception, we have achieved success beyond what we pos- sibly could have hoped for or imagined, all while following our passion within a sport and industry true to our hearts. We have achieved our collective goals and take great pride in having been industry influenc- ers along the way. We hope that our efforts and contributions to the industry will not soon be forgotten. There are many factors that helped us come to this deci- sion, a primary one being the changing online digital land- scape, which we believe will face adversity in coming years. As opposed to trying to reinvent Vurbmoto, we have collectively decided to hold our heads high and celebrate a history-making run, realizing that all good things must come to an end… To our friends, our race com- munities, the industry, race promoters, track staff, vendors and everybody in between, we thank YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your belief, dedi- cation, goodwill, and unrivaled support. Thank you ALL for be- ing a part of this journey. Respectfully, The Vurb Family CN AMA ANNOUNCES 2017 DUAL SPORT SERIES T he AMA National Dual Sport Series, spon- sored by Beta for the third consecutive year, boasts 19 two-day events for 2017. "The AMA National Dual Sport Series traces its roots back to 1987 and has been providing an avenue for some of the country's top dual sports to be featured at the national level," said AMA Recreational Riding and Volunteer Manager Marie Wuelleh. "AMA-chartered clubs and promoters organize thousands of miles of trail for AMA mem- bers to enjoy on their dual-sport machines every year. The noncompetitive events often include meals, a t-shirt, post-ride activities, camping, ca- maraderie and more. Be sure to mark an event, or several, on your calendar for this year." The AMA oversees the series, which provides great riding trails and features additional perks for participants. Every rider will be entered to win a Beta motorcycle in a year-end sweepstakes. "Beta is proud to be the title sponsor of the AMA Dual Sport Series," said Beta Marketing Manager Tim Pilg. "We see the importance of being a part of the series as it has grown over the past few years. We have been working hard developing our RR-S models, and it has been nice to see more and more Beta riders signed up every year." Click here for the complete 2017 AMA Dual Sport schedule.
