CN III VOICES W H A T Y O U A R E S A Y I N G "Kind of reminds me of the demise of Buell. Lots of potential never realized." San Diego Supercross What a great night of racing! Sometimes I bitch about the TV coverage, because I forget that I used to have to literally wait by the mailbox (and I did) for Cycle News to arrive on Thursday to see who won the race! We sure are spoiled these days. Howard Halterman We need James Stewart back in the mix. He can still smoke most of the field. I am not a huge JS7 fan, but I can't stand it when people who have obvi- ously never raced flap their trap about something that they really know nothing about. Although they sure think they do! Just ask them. Nobody else has ever been called "the fastest man on the planet!" Even if his fastest days are behind him, he has earned the highest respect amongst the real racers, aka— his competitors! He will be in the hall of fame. Howard Halterman Both James and Malcolm Stew- art have something that can't be bought or learned: champi- onship speed. Having them on the track would definitely make for a more entertaining season. Let's hope this unfortunate experience ignites a fire in the Stewart boys and they kick in the door and start some s--t next week. Daryl Dickens Watch out for Cooper Webb! Soon he'll be running with the boys in the lead pack. Mark Tannehill Throwback Thursday: Mike Ciccotto I loved having Mike riding for the team. We had a saying for him: "On the gas or in the grass." Great guy. Steve Decamp Archives: Flat Track Racing-Whole New Game I'm a big fan of reviving the old GNC, and the championship be decided by points in mile, half-mile, short track, TT and road racing. That really is the best of the moto racers right there. John W. Browning Watch the original On Any Sun- day movie, and you'll realize [how] great flat track racing is. Mark M Wade Victory Motorcycles No More Never saw this coming! But, to be honest, the "pie" is only so big, and when they brought Indian back from the dead, and too much success I might add, they most likely took sales away from Victory. Maybe this is more of a move to concentrate all effort on Indian? Rob MacIsaac Victory was just another heavy- weight cruiser in a saturated market. Fine bikes, all. Wish they would've moved toward something like the 156 and leave the cruiser market to Indian, possibly an adventure machine using the Octane engine. We'll never know now. Kind of reminds me of the de- mise of Buell. Lots of potential never realized. Craig A. Cooper Polaris made a good move shutting down Victory; too many branded names and the competition pool became satu- rated. Indian is good, just hope they make more models.
