the Hill/Plessinger battle to get
close enough to strike. One er-
ror for Davalos with two laps to
go allowed by McElrath and Hill
to get by, and Plessinger soon

na's Martin Davalos attempted
to chase him down. By the time
Davalos was able to find a way
around Decotis for the lead, a
freight train made up of McEl-
rath, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit
Kawasaki's Justin Hill, and
Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha's
Aaron Plessinger was nipping

He managed to do just that at
San Diego's Petco Park.
McElrath had first gate pick in
the main event, but got pinched
off on the start and had to fight
his way forward. Fortunately for
him, the other expected con-
tenders didn't get out front right
away, either. Geico Honda's Jim-
my Decotis led the first 10 laps
while Rockstar Energy Husqvar-
Justin Hill was back
battling for the 250SX win.
