IN THE WIND P32 OWEN DOUBLES UP AGAIN IN MICHIGAN ARENACROSS F or the second week in a row, Jace Owen (TiLube/ Jack Link's/TUF Racing Honda) swept the Amsoil Arenacross, this time at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, January 14. Like he did at the series opener the previous weekend, Owen won both 250AX main events. It wasn't the perfect weekend for Owen, however, but it was still a good one for him. His only blemish on the night was finishing second to defending champ Gavin Faith (Team Babbitt's/Monster Energy/Amsoil Kawasaki) in the Rocky Mountain ATV-MC Head 2 Head Challenge, which awards a championship point to the winner. In the first main, Jacob Hayes was leading when he went down on lap 11, which gave the lead to Owen, who never looked back from that moment on. Chris Blose (Cycle Trader and Rock River) finished second, with Blose's teammate Matt Goerke filling out the podium. Heath Harrision and Cameron McAdoo went 4-5. In the second main, Owen and Faith battled it out for the early lead, which ended up going to Owen. Faith settled into second only to crash shortly thereafter, giving Owen some much-needed breathing room. Owen went on to take the win, while Faith held on to take second for the second time. Har- rison moved up a notch to third, with Goerke taking fourth and McAdoo fifth. Owen and now leads the 250AX championship by 11 points over Goerke. Faith is third 19 Jace Owen is off to a strong start in the 2017 Amsoil Arenacross Series. PHOTOGRAPHY BY SHIFTONE PHOTOGRAPHY
