ROCKY MOUNTAIN MC WORLD OFF-ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES,
ROUND 1 / JANUARY 8, 2017
MESQUITE MX / MESQUITE, NEVADA

STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHY BY HARLEN FOLEY
T
aylor Robert returned to his roots and won the season opener
of the Rocky Mountain MC World Off-Road Championship
Series at Mesquite MX. Robert ended the day atop a podium
that he shared with former WORCS Champion Gary Sutherlin, who
finished second, and defending WORCS Champion Robby Bell.
The Mesquite MX track certainly put the racers to the test as many
described it as probably the roughest track on the schedule for 2017
with its deep sand whoops and challenging motocross track.
After a two-month break from racing, Robert returned to the
WORCS series on his factory Red Bull KTM. He emerged in the lead
from a battle with Eric Yorba and Sutherlin on the first lap and never
looked back, taking a dominant victory.
