WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP VOL. 54 ISSUE 1 JANUARY 10, 2017 P55 450cc class full-time, and Martin moving over to the GEICO Honda team, Plessinger made it clear that he's hoping to pick up where his teammates left off with a championship before his anticipated move to the 450cc class as early as next year. However, if Plessinger's path to the championship was sup- posed to be predestined, some- body should've told TLD/Red Bull KTM's Shane McElrath. Plessinger didn't qualify for the main as high as he had hoped, due in part to a poor start in his heat race, and he lined up for the main event on the far inside gate, while McElrath had a much better pick and took advantage of it to grab the early lead. "My start in the heat race, I got a good jump and was out with [Jeremy] Martin, but kind of got pushed wide and had to come from the back," Plessinger With his third A1 win in the last four years—and, as yet, no supercross titles to speak of— there's still reason for Roczen's competition to be hopeful, but if just a few more early rounds end like Anaheim I did, Roczen is go- ing to be very tough to stop. As it is, Roczen will be adding a red number-plate to his red Honda in San Diego. 250SX West Over his first few seasons as a professional, Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha's Aaron Pless- inger has won races while he's witnessed his teammates pull down a handful of champion- ships, including the last two 250cc West titles (Cooper Webb) and three 250cc Na- tional MX Championships in a row (Jeremy Martin in 2014 and 2015, and Webb in 2016). With Webb having moved up to the wasn't breathing hard or any- thing. It was one of those races that could have just kept going. But I think in the near future we're going to see tracks being a lot more tacky and we can push more and it's going to be a lot of fun. It was definitely a little bit more of a different Anaheim than I've seen it before." 450SX Highlights
