WORLDSBK GRID GETS IRONED OUT

make changes to the rules
and regulations of the WorldSBK
class continues to swell with
every passing season. The latest
initiatives are headlined by a
change in the grid positions for
the second race of a weekend.
Qualifying and superpole con-

race one it is business as usual,
with Superpole 1 and Superpole
2 allocating grid spots to all.

Sunday will be—for the first nine
riders home in race one only—al-

relegated to seventh, eighth and
ninth on the grid for race two.

be ninth (not seventh), second
place in the race will be eighth
and third will be seventh (not
ninth, like he would have been
had they all just moved back a
couple of rows). So the Saturday
winner becomes the biggest
loser, as he will start race two
from ninth.
The fourth-, fifth- and sixth-
placed riders in race one will
become the first three on the
grid for Sunday's race. So fourth
on Saturday will get you pole
position Sunday, and so on. The
seventh-, eighth- and ninth-
placed Saturday finishers will
