SPIRIT MOTORCYCLES LAUNCHES IN THE UK
S
pirit Motorcycles is a new
UK manufacturer who last
week launched a quartet of
achingly beautiful, high perfor-
mance and ultra-high expensive
750cc triples. The company has
been formed by a seemingly im-
probable collaboration between
two existing British companies:
custom bike shop Spirit of the
Seventies (www.spiritofthesev-
enties.com), who will fabricate
the chassis and assemble the
bikes, and leading Triumph
engine performance tuners T3
Racing (www.tt3racing.com),
who will be responsible for build-
ing the three-cylinder engines.
T3 boss Tony Scott has
close ties to the Triumph fac-
tory, having originated and run
the Triumph Triple Challenge in
BSB and a Triumph Supersport
and Superstock team, claiming
three British Championship titles
in four years, without a single
mechanical DNF.
For the past two years, Spirit
has been developing what Scott
terms "a Moto2 bike for the
street," and the result is now
ready for customer purchase.
There's a choice of four different
variants based on a common
platform, with the fully-faired
GP Sport and its naked bike
spinoff the GP Street as series
production models, with just
50 examples available of a high
performance, limited edition
R-version of each variant, which
houses a more powerful engine
and an enhanced electronics

It's a good time for exclusive
bikes, but the GP Sport-R
promises to be extra special. It
better be for the price!
