VOL. 53 ISSUE 42 OCTOBER 25, 2016 P57 BY MICHAEL SCOTT PHOTOGRAPHY BY GOLD & GOOSE I t started off horrible. Phillip Island did its worst for the first two days. It was cold, wet, windy and treacherous. However, it finished up wonderful, as the characterful southernmost circuit showed its other side on race day (Sunday). Cool, dry weather allowed the hottest of action, in all three classes. And brought a second GP win of the year to the man who had earlier broken Britain's 35-year drought. It also gave another tension injection to Moto2, and a frightening but ultimately rewarding Moto3 race stopped after the last of a spate of crashes left the track strewn with riders and debris. Cal Crutchlow (35) was there to capitalize on Marc Marquez' crash to take the Australian Grand Prix win. ANOTHER Cal Crutchlow gets second-career MotoGP victory at Phillip Island.
