2017 Kawasaki ZX-10RR

awasaki took the wraps off
its brand new ZX-10RR.
The race-replica street bike
will get a bunch of new updates
to take the fight to bikes like
Ducati's Panigale R, the new
Honda CBR1000SP2 and the
recently announced new range
of Suzuki GSX-R1000s.
This is at this stage, however, it
is a Europe-only release; Kawa-
saki USA has said they will be
unveiling their new range for the
local American market later this
month.
Limited to 500 models only,
making it an automatic collec-
tor's item, the ZX-10RR gets a
modified cylinder-head to accept
the longer-lift race kit cams that
are part of the Kawasaki race
catalog. Diamond-Like-Coating
has been used on the tappets to
reduce noise and friction.
The chassis gets beautiful new
Marchesini, seven spoke forged
aluminum wheels, Brembo M50
calipers and new discs and
master cylinder, and the Kawa-
saki Quick Shift (KQS) system
now allows for up and downshifts
without using the clutch.
Kawasaki has also fitted the
six-axis Bosch Inertial Measure-
ment Unit to the RR, something
which now seems like a must-
have downshifts for any super-
bike worth its salt. CN
