teammate Robby Bell had less
fortunate day with a scary crash
on the motocross track. He was
able to get back on his bike, but
opted to pull out of the race.
Other racers who retired early
included Gary Sutherlin, who
was contesting his first Big 6
in over a year. Ryan Reina also
ended his day early after injuring
his ankle on the opening lap.
Ox Motorsports Honda's
Justin Jones didn't have an easy
day, either, although he was able
to ultimately land on the podium.
"It started off pretty rough,"
Jones admitted. "I kinda fell
asleep on the start and I went
into the first turn maybe mid-
pack. I just got real aggressive
and made some passes through
to the front. I was catching
Seeds at the end and I could
taste it, but that's all right. We'll
get it next time."
Jones led his Ox Motorsports
teammates Colton Udall and
Mark Samuels to the finish, with
Udall and Samuels rounding out
the top-five.
Sixth overall went to Pro II
winner Trevor Stewart. After
missing the previous two rounds.
Stewart was back in action and
took another commanding win
in the Pro II ranks aboard his
Fasthouse Yamaha. Despite his
outstanding performance, Stew-
art didn't hesitate to criticize the
track, calling it "definitely one
of the worst Big 6
tracks I've ever rid-
den."
Joining Stewart
on the Pro II po-
dium were Beau
Baron and Mitch
Anderson. In the
Women's Pro divi-
sion of the WCGP,
Tatum Sik charged
to her fourth win of
the year ahead of
Gina Alvarez and
Mica Diaz.
Other notable
wins throughout
the weekend went to Gordon
Ward in the Vet (30+) race. Ward
opened up a giant gap over a
stacked field, which included
Udall, Bell, Baron and Morgan
Crawford. Zip Ty Husqvarna's
Jake Alvarez battled Shane Lo-
gan for the Supermini win, and
David Glass topped an exciting
battle with Scott Putnam for Sun-
day morning's Senior (40+) race.
