IN THE WIND P40 SEEWER STAYS WITH SUZUKI J eremy Seewer, second in the 2016 MX2 FIM Motocross World Championship has extend- ed his contract with Suzuki and will remain with the Stefan Everts- managed team through at least 2019. The Swiss rider will turn 23 next year and will soon be forced out of the MX2 class due to age limits, so he will begin the next stage of his career in the MXGP class, starting in 2018. He will finish out his MX2 ca- reer in 2017. "For me it actually was a pleasure to know and work with Stefan for my first year now," Seewer said. "And I knew, I would decide about my future after working together with him. It all worked out great this season, we want to go in the same direction, I feel good in the team so it was clear for me that I wanted to stay with them and that my future was with Suzuki." "Working with Jeremy has been a pleasure, we have a good feeling and a good spirit between us," said Everts. "We have the same goal and same ambition. I'm very pleased that we could come to an agreement with Jeremy for the '18 and '19 MXGP seasons. It's an important phase of my planning for what I want to achieve with the Suzuki Factory Team." CN Jeremy Seewer (left) and Stefan Everts will continue working together at Suzuki through at least 2019. SIPES OUT FOR ISDE U .S. World Trophy Team rider Ryan Sipes will miss next week's ISDE in Spain. Sipes was involved in an unfortunate incident while warming up for the Powerline Park GNCC in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Just moments before the race, while head- ing for the starting line, he and an- other rider collided. He reportedly tried to avoid the other rider and went down when the other rider hit him. Sipes suffered a possible concussion and a broken bone in his arm in the crash. His mechanic confirmed via social media that Sipes, who was the overall individual winner at the ISDE last year Slovakia, will not be riding Spain. His position on the team will be filled by his Coastal Racing/Rockstar/Husqvarna teammate Layne Michael, who won the XC2 class at the Powerline GNCC. CN An injury will keep Ryan Sipes from defending his ISDE individual championship. PHOTOGRAPHY BY KEN HILL
